The Four Star property is currently a vacant parcel on Kalamazoo Street, in front of the DSM plant. The Four Star property is a facility and eligible property because of the presence of trichloroethylene (TCE) in soils above generic residential criteria and elevated heavy metals (chromium, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc).

The Du-Wel property is currently a vacant parcel on Kalamazoo Street, in front of the DSM plant. The Du-Wel property is a facility and eligible property because of the presence of metals (primarily aluminum) in soils above generic residential criteria and hydrocarbons.

The total cost of eligible environmental activities is estimated at $1,100,000.

The funding for the eligible activities is based on tax capture from approximately $19.5 million in taxable value from the DSM plant.

Karl Schmidt Unisia (former Bohn plant on Aylworth Ave.)

The Karl Schmidt Unisia property is a former aluminum casting and machining facility. The property is a facility and eligible property because of metal and PCB's in the soil which exceeds residential direct contact criteria. The total cost of eligible activities is $436,500.

Factory Condominium

125 Elkenburg Street

The Factory Condominium site is a former pipe organ and wood and metal picture frame manufacturing facility. The site has been developed into residential condominiums and a health club facility. Former operations included degreasing and electroplating of the metal frames. Historic spills and waste management practices have resulted in volatile organic compound contamination in site soil and groundwater on the northern portion of the property, including underneath a portion of the building. The total cost of eligible activities is estimated at $380,000.

Everett Site

900 Indiana Avenue

900 Indiana Avenue is the former Everett Piano building. The contamination is due to paints, solvents and other finishes. The estimated market value of condominium units and health club improvements is $28.6 million. The total cost of eligible activities is estimated at $319,687.

National Motors Site

1070 Indiana Avenue is the former National Motors facility. The property is a facility due to arsenic, lead and selenium in the soil. The estimated market value of residential buildings and condominium units and health club improvements is $28.6 million. The total cost of eligible activities is estimated at $2,004,657.05.

500 Erie Street is the Central School building and surrounding property. The property is a facility due to ash residue from the coal fired boiler. 62 residential units are planned for the site after demolition of the school structure. The estimated cost for eligible activities is $720,765.40. The estimated taxable value for the project is $8,606,100.

Sherman Hills Condominium

The marina site is a facility due to arsenic from agricultural pesticides. Eligible activities are estimated at $1,934,300. 151 residential condominiums are proposed for the development. Estimated taxable value from the development is $18.9 million.
